On February 10, a public lecture was held for the students of BAU International University Batumi in connection with International Epilepsy Awareness Day. International Epilepsy Day is observed annually and aims to increase public awareness about epilepsy, reduce stigma, and emphasize the importance of supporting people living with this condition.
The lecture was delivered by neurologist Dr. Natia Kharati, a member of the academic staff at BAU International University Batumi. She provided students with information about the clinical characteristics of epilepsy, modern diagnostic and treatment approaches, and first aid principles. Special attention was given to discussing common misconceptions about the disease and the importance of eliminating them.
The event aimed to deepen students’ medical awareness and strengthen empathy and social responsibility, fully aligning with the educational mission and community engagement priorities of BAU International University Batumi.
