On June 26–27, BAU International University Batumi, in partnership with Tbilisi State Medical University, hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Radiation Safety and Protection Issues in Medicine in Georgia." The conference addressed current developments and challenges in the fields of medical physics, radiation safety, diagnostic radiology, radiotherapy, and nuclear medicine. The event brought together local and international experts, researchers, academic staff, and students to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advancements in the field.
The conference featured distinguished international speakers, including Assistant Professor Volkan Demircan from Bahçeşehir University, Nadir Küçük from Anadolu Medical Center, Professor John Damilakis from the University of Crete, and Zhenia Vasileva, representative of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). They were joined by members of the academic communities of BAU International University Batumi and Tbilisi State Medical University. The presentations delivered throughout the conference made a valuable contribution to knowledge sharing, the exchange of professional experience, and a deeper understanding of the contemporary challenges facing radiation safety and medical practice.
