Monthly Salary – for Category A affiliated academic staff:

  • Professor – from 4,337 GEL
  • Associate Professor – from 3,699 GEL
  • Assistant Professor – from 3,061 GEL
  • Assistant – from 2,423 GEL

Workload Categories

Academic staff workload is divided into the following categories:

  • Category A (Full-time): Includes contact teaching hours, research activities, and administrative responsibilities for affiliated academic staff.
  • Category B (Part-time): Primarily consists of contact teaching hours with limited research activities, exam-related tasks, and consultations before and after exams for affiliated academic staff.
  • Category C (Part-time): Includes contact teaching hours, exam-related tasks, and consultations before and after exams for non-affiliated academic staff.

Affiliated academic staff can choose between Category A and B, while non-affiliated academic staff can opt for Category C. Details regarding workload and remuneration are provided in the Academic and Invited Staff Workload Regulations (Annex 1).

  • Interview – 11.03.2026 – 13.03.2026
  • Mock lecture – 16.03.2026 – 18.03.2026
  • Appeal submission – 19.03.2026 – 20.03.2026
  • Candidate selection and contract signing – no later than 31.03.2026

Academic Position Requirements

Professor

  1. PhD or an equivalent academic degree.
  2. At least six years of teaching and research experience in a higher education institution.
  3. For clinical disciplines – a medical practice certificate relevant to the competition field and at least 9 (nine) years of clinical work experience
  4. Conceptual vision for university research and/or educational program development.
  5. Published research articles in impact factor journals, presentations at international conferences, and an h-index of at least 3 is preferred (according to Google Scholar) in the last 10 years.
  6. Experience in implementing scientific or other projects.
  7. Active participation in professional development and teaching methodology enhancement.
  8. Proficiency in English at a level sufficient for conducting the educational process (at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Associate Professor

  1. PhD or an equivalent academic degree.
  2. At least three years of teaching and research experience in a higher education institution.
  3. For clinical disciplines – a medical practice certificate relevant to the competition field and at least 5 (five) years of clinical work experience
  4. Conceptual vision for educational module/component or university research development.
  5. Experience in implementing scientific or other projects.
  6. Published research articles in impact factor journals, presentations at international conferences, and an h-index of at least 2 is preferred (according to Google Scholar) in the last 10 years.
  7. Active participation in professional development and teaching methodology enhancement.
  8. Proficiency in English at a level sufficient for conducting the educational process (at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Assistant Professor

  1. PhD or an equivalent academic degree.
  2. At least three years of teaching and research experience in a higher education institution.

  5. Experience in implementing scientific or other projects.

  4. Proficiency in English at a level sufficient for conducting the educational process (at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

List of Required Documents:

  1. Statement for participation in the competition
  2. Copy of an identity card or passport
  3. Application form
  4. Two (2) photo sized 3x4 and/or an electronic version of the photo
  5. Copy of documents confirming higher education and the relevant academic (scientific) degree (equivalent to PhD/PhD)
  6. Certificate confirming completion of qualification enhancement courses/trainings (in the field and/or direction and/or teaching methodology according to the selected vacant position)
  7. Course syllabus or syllabus plan for the course the applicant intends to teach at the university
  8. List of published publications (over the last 10 years, no more than ten), indicating relevant journal and publication/abstract links. For printed journals, a copy of the journal's first page and table of contents must be submitted, as well as information on refereeing/impact factor
  9. Presentations at international conferences – with links (over the last 10 years, no more than ten)
  10. One scientific paper published in the relevant competition field over the last 10 (ten) years. For printed journals, a copy of the journal's first page and text must be submitted. For Professor and Associate Professor positions, the publication must be in an impact factor journal; for other academic positions – in a peer-reviewed journal
  11. Documentation confirming proficiency in the English language
  12. Criminal record certificate issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
