On March 24, in observance of World Tuberculosis Day, an awareness-raising event was held at BAU International University Batumi as part of a broader campaign dedicated to one of the most significant global health challenges - tuberculosis. This day is marked annually at the initiative of the World Health Organization and aims to raise public awareness about the importance of tuberculosis prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment.
The goal of the event was to deepen students’ knowledge of tuberculosis, enhance their understanding of the mechanisms of its transmission, and strengthen their sense of social responsibility. The initiative also encouraged active student engagement and highlighted their role in spreading awareness within the healthcare field. As part of the campaign, university clubs prepared informational banners, which were displayed across the university.
These materials included key information about tuberculosis, such as symptoms, modes of transmission, and main prevention methods, contributing to increased student awareness. One of the main components of the program was a public discussion held in an interactive format. Topics included the spread of tuberculosis, its impact on public health, prevention strategies, and modern approaches to treatment.
Participants had the opportunity to actively engage, ask questions, and share their perspectives. The event represented an important educational and social initiative, once again emphasizing the university’s role in raising awareness in the field of healthcare and strengthening students’ sense of responsibility.
