On May 11, as part of World Gum Health Day, BAU International University Batumi hosted an educational and practical event aimed at raising awareness about the importance of oral health. As part of the event, Professor Nino Cheminava delivered a public lecture titled “Oral-Systemic Connection: Why Gum Health Matters,” where she discussed the impact of gum health on overall well-being, key clinical aspects in modern dentistry, and the importance of preventive medicine. Following the lecture, participants had the opportunity to receive free dental check-ups.
The practical part of the event was carried out with the involvement of senior students, who conducted dental examinations under the supervision of professionals. Nearly 50 students benefited from the free dental screenings during the event. At the conclusion of the event, participants received symbolic gifts. BAU International University Batumi continues to implement educational and practice-oriented initiatives that contribute to the development of professional education, strengthen students’ practical skills, and promote a culture of health awareness within the community.
